At this rate we should be able to reattain the funding for the superconducting supercollider, build it, and possibly have it online by the time CERN gets the LHC up and running.

Well, the good news is that I’ve almost finished hacking about with the layout of the site. The bad news is that the site is mostly empty, for right now at least. I’ve obviously made some pretty big changes – so, here’s whats up. I was reading an article about the 52 series published by DC. If you are unfamiliar, 52 was DC’s attempt at creating a weekly comic. Apparently a lot of people were for the idea, but few thought that it could actually be done. Well, DC did it. Even after they lost the editor who was considered key to it’s success. (I think that it was an editor – but don’t quote me on this. I don’t have the original link on hand to refer to.) Anyway, 52 had its mix of good parts and bad parts – but the main point of it all was that they were producing a comic a week.
At the time that I stumbled across the link about 52, I was also reading about NaNoWRiMo – which is short for National Novel Writing Month. NaNoWRiMo challenges it’s participants to write a 50,000 word novel in one month. They provide online tools to help keep track of an official word count and they have forums where people can ask for technical help and moral support. Lots of people say, “Oh, one day I’d like to write something.” but many times, that “one day” keeps getting put off. NaNoWRiMo hopes to get people writing those novels.
The point of NaNoWRiMo and 52 (although it’s probably not really the point of 52 – it’s just what I took away from the article) is to get out there an create something; sure, it might not be the greatest thing in the world, but there will be good sections (sometimes brilliant) as well as bad sections. And none of it will exist at all unless you get out there and just do it. So, that is the reasons behind the update. I’m planning to try out a few different things (now that Mother Goosed seems to be set). Grab your fountain pen (you do have a fountain pen, don’t you?) and a cup of coffee – it’s time to create something.
